Here at Outback Orchids Australia, we grow our orchids a little differently. Rather than raising them in a cushy nursery, they're grown under 50% shade cloth in the full Far North Queensland sun. They experience fresh air, heat, wind and the changing seasons, producing hardy plants that are ready for life beyond the nursery.

Care Tips

• Light: Thrives in bright light. In harsh tropical climates like Far North Queensland, up to 50% shade is ideal. In cooler or less intense parts of Australia, it can happily handle full sun.
• Water: Water well during active growth, allowing the potting mix to drain freely before watering again. Reduce watering slightly through the cooler months.
• Feed: Apply a quality orchid fertiliser (try our foliar feeders) regularly through spring and summer for strong growth and abundant blooms.
• Airflow: Plenty of fresh airflow helps keep your orchid healthy.
• Temperature: Loves warm conditions and should be protected from frost.
• Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years, or when the potting mix begins to break down.
